Simplified collaboration, improved efficiency
Victrex, a London Stock Exchange-listed manufacturer of high tech polymer solutions for the aerospace and medical industries, required a solution for the central management of documentation, patents and designs from multiple countries. With no central collaboration solution, employees found it difficult to keep track of collaboration occurring in email and meetings. This challenge was compounded by disconnected information repositories across the globe. In addition, the company’s existing intranet no longer met its needs as it was static and information was out of date. The legacy collaboration and document management system had become outdated and unreliable, with limited search capabilities and a complicated navigation structure.
EOH was selected as the offshore development partner to deliver a ‘One Victrex’ enterprise content management solution and collaboration platform incorporating mobile capability. The decision was taken to upgrade the SharePoint platform already in use to SharePoint 2013, to deliver significantly more functionality. In a five-year, iterative project, EOH created new branding, a new technology platform and converged all disparate sites into one centralised portal; upgraded more than 1000 sub-sites from SharePoint 2011 to SharePoint 2013; and undertook a Victrex Dynamix AX ERP SharePoint Data integration project; a Victrex Dynamics AX ERP site build; a Victrex Control of Substances Hazardous to Health workflow build; a Victrex Innovation Page build; Victrex Invibio ADFS; a Victrex Office Webapps installation; Victrex reskinning and Victrex SharePoint and .NETsupport and governance. The solution has led to more engaged, productive and effective staff and risk of information loss has been mitigated by consolidating all information in a location where access is centrally governed.
